Modifying a Node's Cluster Attributes

You can use the cluster modify command to add epsilon to, at most, one node in a cluster (advanced privilege level or higher only), or to mark any node eligible or ineligible to participate in the cluster. NetApp recommends that you mark a node ineligible before performing potentially disruptive operations such as hardware maintenance on it.

The following example adds epsilon to a node named node0a:

node::> set -privilege advanced

Warning: These advanced commands are potentially dangerous; use them only when
         directed to do so by Network Appliance personnel.
Do you wish to continue? (y or n): y

node::> cluster modify -node node0a -epsilon yes

The following example makes a node named node1b ineligible to participate in the cluster:

node::> cluster modify -node node1b -eligibility no
